Supporting Growth, Healing, and Renewal

The British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) says - Therapy provides a safe and confidential space for you to talk to a trained professional about your issues and concerns. Your therapist will help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours so you can develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.

A counsellor will not give you their opinions or advice or prescribe medication. They will help you find your own solutions – whether that’s making effective changes in your life or finding ways of coping with your problems.

Professional counselling, psychotherapy, and clinical supervision with Tony Freegrove — based in Cookham, Maidenhead.

Welcome

I am Tony Freegrove, a qualified and accredited counsellor, psychotherapist and clinical supervisor. I can offer either short or longer-term counselling and psychotherapy services. I can provide the support you may require to address any difficulties you are facing and help you develop a greater understanding of yourself.

As a clinical supervisor I offer a formal, relationship-based process to professionals, both in training, newly qualified or experienced, to support, evaluate, and develop their skills to ensure safe, ethical, and high-quality practice. Supervision is essential for professionals like psychologists, counsellors, and social workers, offering restorative (support), formative (development), and normative (quality control) functions to enhance client care and prevent burnout.

I offer counselling from a quiet, private space in Cookham, near Maidenhead in Berkshire, and I also work online with clients across Ireland and the UK. My approach is person centred, meaning our work together is guided by your pace and your needs. You may arrive not knowing where to begin—that’s completely okay. The therapeutic space is here for you to explore what feels important, safely and without pressure.

Many people reach out when life feels overwhelming, confusing, heavy, or uncertain. You might be experiencing stress, anxiety, relationship strain, grief, emotional exhaustion, or simply a sense that you’ve lost touch with yourself. Whatever brings you here, you are welcome.

Counselling doesn’t require you to have everything figured out. It’s an opportunity to slow down, breathe, and reconnect with yourself in a deeper, more compassionate way.

Taking the first step

Beginning counselling can feel daunting. To help with this, I offer a free 15 minute phone conversation. You’re welcome to use this space to ask questions or simply get a sense of whether working together feels right for you. There is no pressure or obligation — just a gentle first contact.

For those that can’t get to me in person for a Face-to-Face session due to distance or indeed any other issues and wish to work with me , I can offer remote video sessions.
